These traditional baskets are hand-woven by basket weavers in Uganda.
They are made using a traditional African coiled weaving technique from raffia palm tightly woven around a core of banana leaf stem.
This size of bowl is 30cm in diameter, and has a height of approx. 12cm.
The colours include traditional black and earthy tones, or bright colour patterns.
The patterns each represent an element of traditional African culture.
The coloured baskets are traditionally given in Uganda as gifts on special occasions and can be used for fruit, bread or decoration.
They are the perfect accent for any room of the house, and make a fabulous wall display, or can be used as a functional item for fruit, bread, jewellery and storage.
